Founded in 1937 at Tennessee State University (then Tennessee A&I College), Alpha Kappa Mu is an all-encompassing honor society recognizing academic excellence across all areas of study. It was born out of an idea of the Dean of Tennessee A&I along with representatives from five colleges with already established honor societies on their campuses.
It’s no secret that we’re surrounded by buildings and enter them every day (well, we used to!) without even a thought, but, have you ever wondered who makes sure the structures are safe? Lucky for us, we have members of Rho Sigma Kappa working behind the scenes to ensure buildings are up to code before we walk through the door.
The nation’s eyes are back on medical professionals after the president was admitted to Walter Reed Medical Center with a coronavirus diagnosis this week. At the start of the pandemic we discussed the honor society for medical students, but what about pre-med? Do they have their own honor society before their head-first thrust into medical school? The short answer is, yes!
